The Story of Fern and Ridge

I grew up right here in Washington, Illinois, on a quiet street called Windridge. My husband grew up in England. His parent’s house didn’t have a number, only a name: Ferndale. When we dreamed about this shop together—a cozy space full of plants, gifts, and beautiful things for the home—we knew we wanted the name to reflect both of our roots.

Together, Fern & Ridge is a meeting place of our pasts and the beginning of something new. We hope it feels a little like home to you, too.

Fern

“Fern” carries a double meaning: it nods to Ferndale, and it speaks to the greenery you’ll find in every corner of the shop.

Ridge

“Ridge” is a nod to Windridge, the street where my childhood unfolded.
